Is It for You?
This one-year entry option allows you to explore program areas in the humanities and social sciences, and discover your passions and strengths before choosing a major or double major program.

First-year Classes
- Explore your program transfer options by choosing introductory courses in Criminology, English, Environment and Urban Sustainability, Geographic Analysis, History, Language and Intercultural Relations, Philosophy, Politics and Governance, Psychology and Sociology.
- Enrol in two required courses: Academic Writing and Research, and Critical Thinking.
- Choose electives from a wide range of areas including news and film studies, law, business and natural sciences – many of which can lead to a minor.
Program Transfer
You must apply to transfer to one of the 10 programs listed above, or to any of the nine double major programs, by February of your second semester. All of your completed courses will transfer to your new program.
