
Dr. Najafi began his postdoctoral research position at the Ted Rogers School of Management in April 2019. He received his BSc and MSc degrees in Industrial Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology and Amirkabir University of Technology, respectively. He also received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology (SUT) in Iran. After graduating, he taught several courses at SUT for graduate and undergraduate levels, including: Transportation Planning, Multi-Objective Decision Making, Optimization in Healthcare Systems, Business Process Management, and Operations Research.
Mehdi's research interests and expertise are in the areas of supply chain and logistics management, healthcare operations management, and disaster management. He is interested in applying mathematical modeling, stochastic optimization techniques, and data analytics to analyze real-world systems, and to improve their performances. His research has been published in top-tier refereed journals such as: Omega, European Journal of Operations Research, Transportation Research Part E, OR Spectrum, and Operations Research for Healthcare.
