Title: Smart city and firm value

Description: In the rapidly evolving landscape of urban development and technological advancement, the interaction between a firm’s external environment and its operational dynamics has become extremely important. Recognizing this, the objectives of the project are to construct a comprehensive measure of the extent of a firm’s external technological environment, the smartness of the city in which that firm is located, and to investigate how the smartness of the city may impact local firms’ performance and value. This initiative is designed to serve as a readily available resource for business researchers, facilitating the exploration of how the smart capabilities of North American cities may influence business outcomes. Through our efforts, we seek to contribute to the development of a valuable tool for researchers interested in the intersection of urban intelligence and business dynamics.
