The Creative School in Cairo Forges a New Partnership with Media Industry Hub “EMPC”
The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University in Cairo signed an agreement with The Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC), Egypt’s largest hub serving the media, drama, and film production industries, which offers our first cohort of students in Media Production and Sport Media a variety of benefits to help them achieve their learning outcomes over the entire study journey and beyond.
Through UP SKILL, a specialized training unit incubated in EMPC, The Creative School Cairo students will be granted access to TV and sound studios, computer labs, shooting locations, onair broadcasting, and master control rooms to deliver our multi-camera course during June/July following the end of the Winter Semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
The learning components will complement the curricular delivery in the areas of motion graphics, editing and post-production, film directing, cinematography, TV and radio presenting, and media project management.
Throughout the four-year program, The Creative School Cairo students will additionally benefit from a wide array of services such as permits for off-campus production projects, shorts and near feature-length, access to props and sets, physical and virtual, discounted equipment rental, talent scouting, job shadowing, and available internships.
The Creative School Cairo team will be also included in the industry workshops and professional development programs and connected with EMPC partners. Such endeavors would eventually ensure that TMU’s 70+ years of experience is well reflected and shared within the MENA region.
