When can I begin booking equipment?

The first day of classes unless otherwise told by RTA advisors and staff.

How do I book equipment for practicum?

edcpracticum@torontomu.ca add your dates and a list of the equipment you require.  We book on a first come first serve basis.  

Can I book equipment myself?

Yes.  Only through the patron portal.  The reservation limit is 3 days.  If you require a longer reservation contact edcpracticum@torontomu.ca.

Please book all Audio, Camera, Lighting in separate bookings, DO NOT try to make one large booking. Try to limit the bookings to 4 reservations per date.  If you are having problems, please email edcpracticum@torontomu.ca your equipment list and dates. 

Can I see my practicum booking once made?

Please visit the patron portal  (external link, opens in new window)  to view your booking once it has been made.  If it does not appear here, it has not been booked.  If you require changes to your booking, please email edcpracticum@torontomu.ca.

EQUIPMENT FAQ

Please note: students should send all training or operational questions regarding EDC equipment to the production staff (opens in new window)  in charge of practicum. 

Can I take equipment out for the entire semester?

No. The EDC does not have an infinite amount of resources.

Does the EDC have PLe-E adapters?

Yes

What lenses come with the Amira?

We have three (3) options for Amira lenses:

  1. The Fujinon Zoom lens (20-120mm PL Mount)
  2. The Sony Prime Lens Kit six (6) lenses included:
        20mm, 25mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, 125mm
  3. Amira 85 mm Prime Lens.

Due to the high demand for our 4K cameras, you are NOT able to rent more than one lens option (for example: both the prime kit and the Fujinon) at the same time. 

You can ONLY take one (1) lens option at a time.

What lenses come with the FS7, FS5, FX6

Due to the high demand for our 4K cameras and lenses, the only lens option for these cameras are the kit lens attached to the camera.  You are not able to rent additional lenses for these cameras from the EDC.  You must rent them elsewhere.
