Dr. Cheryl Thompson is Director, Black Creative Lab, she is also Creator and Principal Investigator for Mapping Ontario’s Black Archives: Building an Inventory Through Storytelling (MOBA), a five-year project with an open-access UX-designed platform [mobaprojects.ca (external link) ] that is creating public access to Black collections in the province of Ontario, as well as, connecting the artistic and archivist communities through public engagement events, such as Artists and Archivists in Dialogue, a two-day symposium and creative showcase that took place on September 21 and 22, 2023.

Black Creative Lab

Black Creative Lab aims to be an incubator for Black artists, dancers, filmmakers, writers, and creative individuals. Through public engagement, digital content creation, and collaborative projects, Black Creative Lab is creating space, encouraging dialogue, and developing opportunities for persons who identify as Black.
