Congratulations to the student sales team from the Ted Rogers School of Management for being the first-ever Canadian squad to win the International Collegiate Sales Competition (external link, opens in new window)  (ICSC).

The ICSC, held every fall in Orlando, Florida, is the United States’ largest intercollegiate competition, with more than 80 universities participating. The competition serves as the ultimate measure of a university sales program’s focus on overall business revenue generating skills. The school with the highest total points for all events receives a permanent plaque, plus displays the ICSC Collegiate World Cup Trophy for the year.

At this year’s event, the Ted Rogers Undergraduate Sales Team (TRUST) competed against 81 universities from the United States and the Netherlands in three events: Sales Management Case, Role Play and Speed Selling. The Ted Rogers School was the only one to place in the top four for both the Sales Management and Sales Role Play competitions.

Each member of the TRUST team set new performance records for the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership program. Raza Durrani achieved first place in the Individual Sales Role Play (through four very competitive rounds) out of 160 of the top global sales students, showcasing his incredible sales talent, adaptability and growth mindset. Austin Soper and Manan Dabass secured an incredible second place in the rigorous Sales Management Case Competition out of 60 universities with their depth of applied strategy, analytical skills, creativity and teamwork. And Libby Worden made the quarter-finals in her first international sales competition.

This is just one of TRUST’s many victories at international competitions in recent years. In 2023, the team was the overall university champion at the Northeast Intercollegiate Sales Competition, came in third in the International Collegiate Sales Competition and finished fourth at the National Sales Challenge.

TRUST is part of the Ted Rogers Sales Leadership Program, which was co-founded by Dr. Karen Peesker in 2018. The program brings together students, academics and sales professionals to provide a deeper understanding of sales leadership and engage students in experiential learning opportunities to help them become sales leaders. In April, the program was the first one in Canada to be named the Associate Member Sales Program of the year by the University Sales Center Alliance (USCA).
