Congratulations to the Ted Rogers MBA team for finishing fourth overall at this year’s MBA Games and for winning the Debate competition.
The 2024 MBA Games, hosted by Goodman School of Business at Brock University in Niagara Falls from January 5 to 7, featured 16 teams from across Canada competing in sports challenges, case competitions and numerous team spirit events. The Ted Rogers MBA squad was made up of 15 students and Jessica DaSilva and Naveed Tagari served as co-captains.
"I was enormously proud of the entire team,” says Dr. Chris MacDonald, Graduate Program Director, Ted Rogers MBA Program. “Our fourth place showing reinforces that our MBA students can go toe-to-toe with the best from across the country.”
The Ted Rogers MBA team also finished in the first runner-up spot in the Simplii Case, which challenged students to develop a strategy to support Simplii Financial’s highly ambitious growth plan for one of their credit card products. In addition, the group was the first runner-up in both the Spirit performance and the Team Video, and second runner-up in the Dodgeball competition.
"We had some tremendous individual efforts, but it really is a team thing,” says Dr. MacDonald. Our team competed with passion, but also with professionalism. They were all terrific ambassadors for Toronto Metropolitan University and for the Ted Rogers MBA brand.”
"Jessica DaSilva and Naveed Tagari deserve special recognition as co-captains,” he adds. “I was the Faculty Advisor, but mostly I just stayed out of the way and cheered from the sidelines. They did all the work.”
