For the second straight time, Ted Rogers School of Management’s Real Estate Management program is the #1 school in Canada in the Real Estate Academic Leadership (REAL) Rankings. The program was also tied for #36 worldwide (with five other schools) in the rankings, which was for 2018-2022.
“For a department with a history of only 10 years behind it, this is indeed a remarkable and outstanding achievement,” says Dr. Dogan Tirtiroglu, Ted Rogers School’s Chair of Real Estate Management.
“I congratulate all my departmental colleagues and students, and thank everyone at the Ted Rogers School of Management for their direct and indirect contributions for crafting and maintaining a productive and collegial atmosphere,” he adds. “We are pleased that at a time when momentum for international engagements at Toronto Metropolitan University has been gaining more intensity, the Real Estate Management Department’s strength in domestic and international rankings contributes to the university’s mission, efforts and goals.”
The REAL Institution Rankings highlight intellectual contributions to real estate knowledge based on publication productivity in the top three real estate journals: The Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, The Journal of Real Estate Research and Real Estate Economics. The current rankings encompass journal articles that were published in a journal issue, published online or listed as accepted and forthcoming as of September 1, 2022.
The Ted Rogers School’s Real Estate Management program had a total of nine publications during this time period, tied with the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, College of Charleston, EHL Hospitality Business School, Marquette University and University of Aberdeen.
This is the eighth release of the REAL rankings, and the second time that Toronto Metropolitan University was eligible to be considered for the list. The school was also ranked #1 in Canada in REAL’s 2017–2021 ranking.
