The Ted Rogers School of Management is deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and supporter, Ronald H. Otis.
The philanthropist and business leader believed strongly in the importance of education and helped many students.
Ron was the visionary founder and driving force behind Otis Properties. Founded in 1956, the company blossomed into a leading Canadian commercial real estate developer across Canada, a true testament to his foresight, determination and remarkable leadership. His passion for real estate and education was the beginning of his relationship with the Ted Rogers School.
Ron's remarkable support, together with the unwavering commitment of Lorraine and the Otis family children, has deeply impacted the lives of our students. His immense generosity is showcased through the Ronald H. Otis Awards in Real Estate. It is a symbol of his limitless dedication to supporting the dreams of aspiring real estate professionals.
In a touching tribute to Ron, a special dinner was hosted by the University in 2019. It was during this heartfelt event that the Ronald H. Otis Classroom was named, commemorating Ron's invaluable contributions.
The Ted Rogers School extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to the Otis Family during this difficult time. We are grateful for their support, which has allowed us to honour Ron's legacy.
