Young Travel Professionals Toronto partners with TRSM to address #MeToo issues in travel industry

From its boardrooms to the service level of its transportation and hospitality sectors, gender-based discrimination and harassment are ongoing realities in the travel industry. These issues will be discussed at a special event hosted by Young Travel Professionals Toronto, “Let’s Get Uncomfortable: Discussing gender equity and equality in Canada’s travel industry,” at TRSM on October 2, 2018.
Inspired by the #MeToo Movement, the event will be led by a panel of travel professionals and public educators, and centre on sexism, workplace inequity, bystander intervention, and how to become a safer, more inclusive industry. Panellists include:
- Julie S. Lalonde - Women's Rights Advocate & Public Educator
- Farrah Khan - Manager, Ryerson’s Office of Sexual Violence Support & Education
- Amrita Bhalla - Managing Director, A.B Consulting & Sessional Lecturer at Ryerson University
- Shalene Dudley - Owner, Latitude Concierge Travels
- Brad Ford - President, Insight Vacations & Luxury Gold
