The Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management joins the list of nationally recognized programs under Tourism HR Canada’s SMART+ Accreditation Program
Toronto, September 1, 2024 - We are proud to announce that the Ted Rogers School of Hospitality and Tourism Management has achieved its SMART+ reaccreditation from Tourism HR Canada.
Our program became the first post-secondary university program to receive this national recognition in 2018 for demonstrating tourism-related programming that exceeds industry standards as envisioned in the SMART+ accreditation program.
The SMART+ Accreditation Program aims to provide an opportunity for post-secondary public or private institutions and corporate training providers to demonstrate that their programming meets or exceeds industry standards, but also provides benchmarks that tourism educators can use to assist them in continually improving their programs.
“This recognition is an impressive accomplishment, and we commend this institution for their commitment to creating programming that reflects current industry needs and provides the type of graduates that will be integral to growing Canada’s tourism sector by providing quality professionals to the sector,” states Tourism HR Canada President Philip Mondor. “A key aim of the program is to promote and recognize institutions that prepare graduates that are in high demand. These are graduates that have the skills and abilities to help tourism prosper now and the future.”
