Happy Retirement, Dr. Zhen Lu!

Dr. Zhen Lu is starting his retirement after more than 21 years of teaching! Thank you for all of your contributions to our School, the University and the hospitality industry, particularly being a mentor to all our international students.

Dr. Lu studied and worked in China, Europe, and North America. He received his PhD degree from a Sino-Dutch joint program offered by the Faculty of Management Science of Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands and Xian Jiaotong University, China.

He has taught business and hospitality management courses not only at Ryerson, but also serving as a guest professor of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs including Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Shandong University, Xian Jiaotong University, and Xian University of Science.

His wide research interests were mainly in the area of strategic management, crisis management, and tourism management both in Canada and China.

Dr. Lu is a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Hospitality and Tourism Administration and a board member of Canada Oriental Culinary Society.
