Happy Retirement, Dr. David Martin!

Dr. David Martin is starting his retirement after more than 25 years of teaching!

Thank you for all of your contributions to our School, the Ryerson community and the hospitality and tourism industry.

Besides teaching, during his time at Ryerson, he also developed and delivered management training programs for Delta Hotels and Accor Hotels and Resorts, Imago Restaurants and Service Inspired Restaurants using real-time computerized simulation programs. The emphasis of this training is a balanced approach to operations management that includes both financial as well as service management strategies to running successful hospitality operations.

He is also a co-founder of Simr – The Restaurant Simulation (external link) , a valuable remote learning tool for Hospitality Education.

Dr. Martin was the recipient of the 2013 Educator of the Year Award from the Ontario Hostelry Institute (OHI) and the 2008 OHI Fellowship.
