Dr. Pria Nippak
Overview
Pria Nippak, Phd, MSc, HBSc, HBA (Toronto) is an Associate Professor within the School of Health Services Management at Toronto Metropolitan University. In addition, she is the Academic Coordinator of the Health Informatics Certificate, which provides her with many opportunities to support students through their training. She received her academic training at the University Toronto where she examined the influence of both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical treatments for promoting healthy aging. Her current research interests include the examination of supportive housing initiatives to promote healthy aging in place, the examination of emergency wait time strategies to promote better health delivery in an acute care setting, examining ways to promote learning through the use of computer simulations and exploring whether core competencies in health care programs are providing adequate training to meet the needs of health care employers. Pria is an educator with many years of experience teaching at the University of Toronto and Toronto Metropolitan University within the areas of research methods and design, statistics, program planning and evaluation, epidemiology, neuroscience, and addictions. In addition, she provides continuous faculty support for the capstone practicum course, which is the final course requirement before degree completion.
