Justice Ogoroh

Overview

Justice Ogoroh is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Law and Business at the Ted Rogers School of Management (TRSM). He joined Toronto Metropolitan University in July 2021.

Justice holds a Ph.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, York University in Toronto. His interdisciplinary PhD dissertation focused on the challenges of copyright law reform in Canada in the digital landscape. Prior to his PhD studies in Canada, Justice earned an LL.M. in Intellectual Property from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Centre for Intellectual Property), New Hampshire, United States. He also earned an LL.M. from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland, United Kingdom, LL.B. from University of Benin, Nigeria and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005.

Justice was a resident scholar (summer of 2015 and 2016) at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) in Waterloo, Ontario where he conducted research and worked on his PhD dissertation. Justice had intellectually stimulating interactions with CIGI research fellows to fuel his research.

Before proceeding to the United Kingdom for LL.M. studies, Justice had a brief law practice in Nigeria as an Associate Counsel at A.O. Openiyi & Co.

His interest in business and technology motivated him to take on a role as a Project Manager in Nigeria in Alteq.ICT in 2009 where he worked as part of technical team to manage IT projects worth $24m USD. He was also Team Lead and supervised technical proposal writing for various ICT projects worth $160m USD. Between 2010 and 2013, Justice had experience in international development as Assistant Facilities Manager and Project Officer at UK Department for International Development (DFID) in Abuja, Nigeria. As Project Officer, Justice was part of the Human Development Team where he contributed to the management of health and education intervention projects in Nigeria worth £145m.
