Ryzome

Founder: Alexandre (Lexi) Parrott-Mautner
Ryzome Environmental Corporation (REC), transforms waste from our built environment into nutrient rich, food grade soil for use in agricultural settings.
The world is filled with waste. As we grow our urban centers, waste streams will increase and continue to lay ruin the dwindling natural resources that are available. In Canada alone, 58% of the waste in our landfills is construction / demolition and organic waste. This waste, when processed and combined, offers a rich environment for plants to grow. The opportunity at Ryzome Environmental is to connect our built environment with the foundational natural environment that supports our daily lives. We can improve soil quality and food quality in our communities using waste.
There is a distinct lack of creativity when it comes to our business models. Ryzome seeks to redefine the ways businesses connect not only with the natural environment, but also with the communities that are impacted by continued business development and growth.
Our mission is to redefine our collective relationship with waste. Helping to create systems and policy that views waste as an inherent resource to fuel our economy.
