Founder: Allison Solis

Promoting the shift to a circular economy through the repair, reuse & upcycling of clothing.

The environmental impacts of the fashion industry are widespread and substantial. The fashion industry is responsible for more than 92 million tonnes of textile waste per year, much of which ends up in landfill or is burnt. The emergence of fast fashion has not helped this - clothing production has doubled in the last fifteen years while usage has dropped by 40%.

Essentially, people are buying more clothes but wearing them less.

It appears that there is a need to increase competence around the larger issue of consumption, its environmental impact, and potential alternatives.

Solis aims to reduce the fashion industry's environmental impact by promoting a shift away from the dominant linear system of buying and disposing to a more circular one that values repairing, reusing & upcycling.

We provide customers with the following fast fashion alternatives:

  1. Attend a workshop where you can learn skills like dyeing, sewing or embellishing, which can prolong the life of your already owned clothing
  2. Use a service and allow us to tailor, repair or upcycle an already owned item that you bring in
  3. Purchase already upcycled clothing from local sustainable partners and brands

Join us as we repair, reuse & upcycle our way to a circular future.
