At project lightbulb, we believe in making curiosity accessible.

Project Lightbulb is a hands-on virtual science education that guides students and educators through curriculum outcomes using easy and low-cost experiments that can be done from home, the classroom, or a hospital.

STEM and experimental learning are not only important for understanding scientific concepts but is crucial for developing problem solving skills and an innovative mindset that can be used in any field. However, there are many inequalities that make this unavailable to students. In some cases, the classroom is not equipped with the materials necessary to complete experiments. Similarly, some students are in remote or virtual education, and don’t have access to the supplies or guidance for experiments that can be done home or in a hospital.

We design and create experiments for students and educators that utilize low cost resources to increase the accessibility to STEM and allow all students to engage and apply their learning.

To be able to provide teachers, guardians, and students with the most support, we provide these low-resource experiments through two formats. The first is designed for students and is fully guided, meaning it can be done with minimal support from educators. Whereas, our educator guides are built for teachers or guardians wanting to facilitate these activities in their learning environment whether in-person or virtually. Through our program we intend to foster innovation and problem-solving skills to help students succeed and promote higher level education.
