Food insecurity is a big problem in Toronto with 1 in every 7 households being considered food insecure. Many shelters serving food run entirely off of donations and struggle to feed the sometimes 100’s of people that rely on them every day.

Through collaborating with Toronto’s hospitality industry, we designed a program that supports restaurants in giving back to the communities they are a part of.

Restaurants select a day and time that can be consistent every month and prepare a meal large enough to feed a minimum of 40 people. We encourage they do this as economically as possible, either by utilizing potential waste or leveraging relationships with suppliers. We match them with a shelter in their community and transport the meal at their chosen day and time. Receiving large format prepared meals eases the stress shelters face when trying to feed those in need. Our program currently facilitates the donation of 360 meals a month from restaurants to those in need.

Individuals can support our initiative by spreading awareness, following us on social media, signing up for our monthly newsletter, or donating financially through our website.
