Tuition and Financial Support

Information about current graduate tuition fees and associated regulations can be found at: ryerson.ca/graduate/future-students/financing-your-studies

Ryerson University provides financial support for as many full-time graduate students as possible. Categories of financial support include:

  • Ryerson Graduate Fellowships (RGF)
  • Ryerson Graduate Development Awards (RGDA)
  • Other University-internal awards
  • Research stipends
  • Research assistantships
  • Teaching assistantships

Scholarships, stipends and awards are offered on a competitive basis and the number awarded in any year depends on academic performance. RGF and RGDA do not require separate application because all candidates are automatically entered in the competition as part of the application process.

In recent years, the average funding package for students in the Master of Spatial Analysis was over $10,000, and up to $19,000 from Ryerson-internal sources alone. The level of funding depends on factors such as incoming academic qualifications, time of application, suitability for research and teaching assistantships, as well as academic standing in the program.

Students are also encouraged to apply for external scholarships from the major federal granting agencies (SSHRC, NSERC, CIHR) and the Province of Ontario (Ontario Graduate Scholarships). These scholarships require separate applications well in advance of admission to the program.
