Place the Planets
In this activity you'll be given images of the planets in our Solar System, all sized to scale with each other and ready to print out. Instructions will guide you through laying them out so that they are spaced apart appropriately. You can test yourself or others by guessing what that spacing should be! Further instructions can help you lay them out so they can orbit the Sun, and will provide more details on the sizes, distances, and even the orbital times of the planets in our Solar System! Learn just how much space there is out there in space!
Special thanks to Dave Kirsh, an astronomy teacher in the Ryerson Physics Department (opens in new window) , for creating this activity for Science Rendezvous!
