Faculty of Science mourns loss of physics professor Jahan Tavakkoli
Message from the Dean:
Dear Colleagues, Students, Staff and Community Members,
The universe can be impossible to fathom at times. A question of why a beautiful, kind, thoughtful scientist would be taken before their time is truly unanswerable. Professor Jahangir Tavakkoli kept his humanity and grace until the end, December 6, 2024. His was a life of discovery and service. He made immeasurable contributions to applied ultrasound in the medical field, was an award-winning educator, a tireless community member always willing to help out. His legacy lives on through his graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, colleagues and friends. And above all else, his love of his family was true and deep. We shall miss him and he remains in our hearts as a scholar with a deep core of humanity.
