Advancing Women in STEM - Graduate Entrance Scholarship
In support of the Faculty of Science’s commitment to fostering inclusivity and reducing barriers for underrepresented groups in science, we are proud to introduce the Advancing Women in STEM Graduate Entrance Scholarship for the Fall 2025 admissions cycle. This scholarship supports women embarking on MSc or PhD studies in the Faculty of Science at TMU, providing financial support to female-identifying students and empowering the next generation of leaders in STEM.
20 awards of $10,000 are available for the Fall 2025 admissions cycle. This amount will be in addition to the program’s standard funding package.
In order to be eligible, an applicant must:
1) Identify as a woman (cisgender or transgender);
2) Receive and accept an admission offer into a research-based Faculty of Science graduate program or interdisciplinary graduate program with a Faculty of Science-based research supervisor for Fall 2025.
Based on a review of the graduate admission application, awardees will be selected on the basis of academic excellence, research potential, and community/extracurricular involvement.
Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and submit their application to a Faculty of Science graduate program (Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Molecular Science or Environmental Applied Science and Management*), will automatically be considered for this entrance scholarship.
*Environmental Applied Science and Management is an interdisciplinary program. To qualify for this scholarship, the student’s research supervisor must be a faculty member from a Faculty of Science department (i.e. Chemistry and Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics).
All eligible applicants who receive a graduate admission offer will automatically be considered for an award on an ongoing basis until all awards have been offered and accepted. While there is no deadline to apply, those whose applications are completed early will stand a better chance of being offered an award.
