Dr. Neil Dattani

Undergraduate Medical Education Course Lead, Professional and Personal Development

Dr. Neil Dattani is a passionate clinician and educator who is excited to join Toronto Metropolitan University's (TMU)  School of Medicine leadership team as the Course Lead for Professional and Personal Development.

During his career thus far, he has transitioned from solely a patient-facing clinician, to one with an additional keen interest for complementary non-clinical roles. As an educator, he significantly grew the academic program for the Etobicoke General Hospital Emergency Department during his tenure as its Education Coordinator. His leadership experience at William Osler Health System includes serving as the Clinical Lead for a regional Community Paramedicine Program, and as the corporate Emergency Medicine Quality Lead. He also contributes to physician self-regulation as an Assessor for the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.

Dr. Dattani completed his medical school, family medicine residency, and emergency medicine fellowship all at the University of Toronto. His own professional journey has led to significant personal growth and maturation, and he is looking forward to empowering TMU medical students with the attitude and character to achieve the same during their own long and successful careers as physicians.
