Dr. Kamil Haider
Dr. Kamil Haider has been involved in medical education and the development of clinical teaching programs for over a decade. Currently, Dr Haider serves as Interim Executive Director, Academic Affairs and has been instrumental in supporting the development of the TMU School of Medicine. He is chair of the Medical Education Council at William Osler Health System (Osler), where his leadership was instrumental in the approval of a fellowship in emergency medicine. He has also supported the development of training programs in emergency medicine internationally. Dr. Haider practices emergency medicine at Osler, where his previous leadership roles include chief of emergency medicine at Etobicoke General Hospital and medical director of Academic Affairs. Most recently, he was interim executive medical director of academic affairs at Osler and TMU.
Dr. Haider serves as the regional director of the McMaster University Community and Rural Education (Mac-CARE) program at Osler. He is also an assistant clinical professor at the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.
Dr. Haider graduated from the University of Saskatchewan College of Medicine and completed postgraduate training in family medicine and emergency medicine at McGill University. He is a fellow of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and a diplomate of the Canadian Academy of Pain Management. He holds a certificate in advanced health leadership from the Rotman School of Management and is a Canadian Certified Physician Executive.
