Rvaha Afaan

Rvaha Afaan is a medical student at the University of Ottawa and an alumnus of McMaster University.  He is passionate about social activism and mentorship, having advocated and fundraised for issues like adequate housing access and mental health care access. Serving on his school's Social Accountability Student Advisory Committee, Rvaha is committed to advancing social medicine. He teaches and mentors students in his community, school, and beyond through organizations like IYNA. His work reflects a dedication to equity and advocacy, aiming to meaningfully impact medical training and education, especially in Brampton and the Peel region, where he grew up.
