Charles Davis is an adjunct professor in the RTA School of Media (The Creative School) and an Emeritus Professor with TMU. Now retired, he was a full Professor with TMU's Media Production program and he held the Edward S. Rogers Sr. Research Chair on Media Management and Entrepreneurship.
Charles teaches and conducts research on management and policy in the media industries, with special interest in media innovation, new product development, and audiences. He is currently participating in research projects on TV audience viewing habits, policy for the creator economy, explanatory journalism, and media literacy.
His recent graduate and undergraduate teaching includes courses in media management, new product development, political economy of media industries, audience analysis, innovation in experience-producing industries, cultural economy, and media entrepreneurship.
Charles has taught in the MA in Media Production program, in the Toronto Met/York MA/PhD program in Communication and Culture, and in Toronto Met's MBA/MSc in Management of Technology and Innovation program.
