Virginia Thompson

Virginia Thompson is President of Vérité Films and an award-winning executive producer and TV series creator. Virginia is best known as Executive Producer of the hit comedy Corner Gas, which she developed with Brent Butt, David Storey and Mark Farrell. Corner Gas was Canada’s #1 rated scripted series for 6 years and changed the comedy scene in Canada. Virginia executive produced/co-created the comedy InSecurity, the award winning youth drama renegadepress.com, and the hit children’s seriesIncredible Story Studio.

Virginia and her husband/business partner Robert de Lint wrote the Incredible Story Studio Writing Workshop that teaches kids how to write stories for TV. The workshop was part of the school curriculum in the UK and was used widely across Canada. Prior to producing, Virginia was a journalist for W5, The Journal and worked on the Degrassi series. Virginia lives in Toronto with her husband, 3 daughters and a dog named Sally.
