Treena Hancock

Headshot of Treena Hancock
Writer / Producer
RTA class of '94

Hailing from a small town in Newfoundland, Treena Hancock made a meteoric rise in Hollywood and is now one of the most sought-after crime writers in the industry. Treena made a name for herself writing shows such as Crossing Jordan, Flashpoint, The Unusuals, Houdini & Doyle and the hugely successful CSI. One of the longest running shows in history, CSI had the distinction of being the most watched television show in the world.

One-half of the writing team known fondly as “The Murder Girls”, Treena has been working with her writing partner and fellow RTA grad, Melissa R. Byer, since 1993. In addition to writing and producing several series, Treena has written freelance episodes for cult hits such as Reaper and Stargate Atlantis. She has also sold pilots to Lifetime, Universal, NBC, ABC and TNT. In 2017, Treena served as co-executive producer on NBC International’s Gone.

Treena now lives in Los Angeles, but Canada and Toronto Met are always in her heart.
