Jessica began RTA in 1993, taking two years off to do volunteer work in Venezuela through her church. After directing and performing in RIOT, RTA’s sketch comedy revue, on a dare she tried stand-up comedy at an amateur night. Soon, the Comedy Network cast her in The Itch. She created The Holmes Show for CTV then had six seasons on Royal Canadian Air Farce playing everyone from Michael Jackson to Celine Dion. As a stand-up, she has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres and esteemed personalities like Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey. She wrote the inspirational and hilarious I Love Your Laugh and is working on a second book about overcoming depression. A trained Wellness Coach, she is hired by companies to perform comedy about positive psychology and goal setting; and dedicates part of her speaking career to reducing the stigma of mental illness. She married Toronto Met alumnus Scott Yaphe and they have two children.
