Jay Onrait

Jay Onrait co-hosts SC with Jay and Dan alongside Dan O’Toole, airing live weekdays at 12 p.m. midnight ET on TSN with encore broadcasts the following morning.
Jay was previously anchor for Fox Sports Live on the American Fox Sports 1 network. He began his career at The Sports Network (TSN) as an editorial assistant in 1996, before making his on-air debut at Global Television in Saskatoon in 1998. He is well known for hosting TSN’s nightly news and highlight platform, SportsCentre, with Dan O’Toole. Paired together in 2003, the duo infused their personalities and wide-ranging pop culture references into the show, which went on to become a cultural phenomenon in Canada. Onrait and O’Toole headed to the United States to launch FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports Live in 2013, and have since taken their popular, off-beat creation, The Jay and Dan Podcast, with them.
Onrait has previously been host of The Big Breakfast on A-Channel in Winnipeg, and the NHL Network’s agship show, NHL On The Fly, and Molson That’s Hockey 2. He won the Gemini Award for Best Sportscaster in 2011, after his first nomination in 2010. Author of Canadian bestseller, Anchorboy: Tales from the World of Sportscasting, his second book, Number Two: More Short Tales from a Very Tall Man, is set for release in October 2015.
