Mane Kara-Yakoubian

MA Student, Clinical Psychology

Mane Kara-Yakoubian studies in Dr. Julia Spaniol's Memory and Decision Processes Lab.

Throughout the last two years, Mane has thoroughly enjoyed studying how aesthetic language and truth and decision making interact. This research has spanned the effect of pseudo profound bullshit evaluations of artwork (external link) bullshitting ability (external link) , as well as the relation between beauty and truth (external link) . Mane is looking forward to exploring other areas of judgment and decision making in the Memory and Decision Processes Lab, starting with the effect of emotion on hindsight bias in younger and older adults.

In Fall 2020 Mane launched a #ScrunchiesForArtsakh campaign, where she made and sold hair scrunchies to provide financial aid for Armenian families of Artsakh who were displaced as a result of the Artsakh War.
