Dr. Kevin Leung is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist with academic expertise in leadership communication and employee motivation.  He received his B.Sc.(Hons) in Psychology from Western University and his Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Waterloo, having graduated as the youngest psychology doctorate in Canada.

Dr. Leung joined Toronto Metropolitan University’s (TMU) School of Professional Communication in 2016 and has taught Introduction to Professional Communication (CMN 279), Organizational Communication (CMN 315), and Communication in the Engineering Professions (CMN 432).  He holds a cross appointment in the Department of Psychology and teaches Industrial Psychology (PSY 209) for the Engineering program.  Prior to TMU, Dr. Leung was a faculty member at the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, where he taught Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources Management for the Commerce program.

In 2017, Dr. Leung joined the private sector full-time as a Project Manager at Top Hat, one of North America’s leading educational technology companies.  At Top Hat, Dr. Leung leads the development of educational content and digital learning products that are used by more than 3 million students at 750+ of the world’s top universities. His work has contributed to 3x portfolio revenue growth and significant gains in product adoption and market share. Dr. Leung was the recipient of Top Hat’s Most Valuable Player Award in 2019-2020 and the co-recipient of the Most Strategic Win Award in 2020.  In addition to his full-time work, Dr. Leung returned to teach part-time in 2020 for TMU's School of Professional Communication and the Department of Psychology. In his classes, Dr. Leung strives to make learning fun and effective with engaging activities, current industry examples, and strong collaborations between students.

Outside of work, Dr. Leung’s leisure pursuits include test-driving cars, skiing, and hiking.
