Dr Ila Ahlawat has several years of experience teaching at universities. Her doctoral studies centered around English and Theatre studies while her postdoctoral and other recent research work has been around gender, media and communication studies. She has interdisciplinary academic interests and her latest book, Women and Temporality in Literature and Cinema, delves upon the concept of temporality in literature and visual cultures. She has published several peer-reviewed articles with top international journals in the area of media and gender studies, and is also the author of the critically-acclaimed book, The Gaze of the Caged Woman.
