Dr. Larry Savage, Chair of the Department of Labour Studies, Brock University and President of the Canadian Association for Work and Labour Studies

Larry Savage is Chair of the Department of Labour Studies at Brock University and President of the Canadian Association for Work and Labour Studies. His teaching and research is focused on collective bargaining, union strategy, and labour politics. Professor Savage is also a former member of the Executive Council of the Ontario Federation of Labour. He has authored or edited six books on the Canadian labour movement, including Unions in Court: Organized Labour and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, co-authored with Charles Smith, and his latest co-edited book with Stephanie Ross, a 2nd edition of Rethinking the Politics of Labour in Canada. Professors Savage and Ross are also co-investigators on a multi-year Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council grant exploring union politics in the 21st century.
