Kathy Maciag-Carroll
Kathy Maciag-Carroll is a PhD student in the public policy and administration stream of the Policy Studies program at Toronto Metropolitan University. She is currently a Senior Policy Advisor in Public Safety Division under the Ministry of the Solicitor General working on legislative policy for policing standards, specifically regulatory development. Kathy has an undergraduate honours degree in Psychology and a Masters in Child and Youth studies where she discovered her passion for policy in the social services/sciences field. Her research specialization revolves around youth justice issues and advocacy for children’s victim rights within the provincial governmental system. She hopes to further explore issues around child and youth re-traumatization within the victim testimonial process and highlight the importance of standardization of trauma-informed practice for police investigators across Ontario.
