Review proposed changes to the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy

Community members are invited to review proposed changes and provide feedback.
Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) has completed phase one of the Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Policy (DHPP) Review. Feedback collected through an online survey, tabling sessions and feedback sessions generated a diverse range of ideas and suggestions to enhance the existing policy.
Thank you to all who participated and demonstrated your commitment to fostering a university environment where all community members can learn, work, live and thrive with dignity and respect.
The university has now entered phase two of the review process, led by Human Rights Services in the Office of the Vice-President, Equity and Community Inclusion (OVPECI).
Review proposed changes to the policy
We invite all community members to review the (google doc) summary of proposed changes (external link) to the policy.
The project team will conduct feedback sessions with students, student unions and groups, as well as faculty, contract lecturer and staff unions to gain their input.
Provide feedback at our tabling sessions
All community members are invited to drop in to our tabling sessions in the SLC.
What’s next
Feedback collected during phase two will inform the final draft of the policy. The final version will then be presented to the Board of Governors for approval. The review is expected to continue into the spring of 2025.
