As of June 7, a TTC union may take job action, resulting in service disruptions. Though this isn’t yet confirmed, TMU wants the community to be as prepared as possible for disruptions in their commute to campus.

The Toronto Transit Commission and Amalgamated Transit Union Local 113 are currently in contract negotiations. If an agreement is not reached by 12 a.m. on Friday June 7, 2024 strike action resulting in TTC service disruption is possible.

While a service disruption has not been confirmed, it's important for all TMU community members to be aware of this possibility and prepare.

Explore alternative arrangements to get to campus

If you depend on the TTC for transportation to campus, we strongly recommend exploring alternative commuting options in case of service disruptions.

All classes will continue as planned. In the event of a service disruption, students will be asked to consult with their professors regarding classes, assignments and tests. The course management policy (Policy 166) may be applied for required changes to courses in response to any disruptions due to the interruption of TTC service.

Employees (faculty and staff) should make alternative arrangements to get to work when they are required to be on campus. Leaders should be flexible when possible given the possible disruption.

Convocation begins June 10

All convocation ceremonies will continue as scheduled, please make alternative plans to come to campus. Ceremony dates and times can be found on the June 2024 Ceremony Schedule.

Stay informed

The university continues to monitor negotiations; if a disruption is confirmed more information will be provided. The latest bargaining updates can be found on the TTC website (external link) .
