Athletics and Recreation teams up with Mark Stoddart on Black History Month design
TMU’s Athletics and Recreation department are celebrating Black History Month with special events and an exciting collaboration with Mark Stoddart.
Stoddart is a Toronto-based artist, designer, activist and owner of LIWI68.COM, an online boutique store that advertises and sells merchandise with the intent to educate, empower and unite. His art collections have found homes with prominent individuals, including Masai Ujiri, President of the Toronto Raptors, NBA player Tracy McGrady, Director Spike Lee, WNBA player Tammy Sutton Brown, Dwayne De Rosario, Canadian former professional soccer player, and 1968 Olympian Dr. John Carlos, known for his silent protest with a raised fist on the podium in Mexico City.
In collaboration with TMU Athletics and Recreation, Mark has designed a custom t-shirt - ‘Bold, Beautiful & Brilliant’ - for TMU Athletics and Recreation staff members to wear through the month and TMU Bold varsity student-athletes to wear as they warm up during all home and away games in February.
You, too, can get a shirt, available online at LIWI68.COM (external link) .
