In keeping with Toronto Metropolitan University’s policy for the appointment of academic administrators (AAA Policy), I am writing to announce the establishment of a search committee for the provost and vice-president, academic. This comes following the announcement that Jennifer Simpson will be taking on the role of special advisor to the president, and that Roberta Iannacito-Provenzano has been appointed interim provost and vice-president, academic.

The establishment of the committee and the subsequent search process will adhere to TMU’s policies on equity, diversity and inclusion, discrimination and harassment prevention and access (further details are available in the AAA Policy, Part 4, Section 1, and AAA Procedures, Part 2, Section 1H).

Information regarding dates and links to nomination forms will be emailed directly by the senate office to those who are eligible to nominate and vote for members to this committee.

I look forward to sharing the composition of the committee with the community in the coming weeks.

Mohamed Lachemi
President and Vice-Chancellor
