Search committee for dean, School of Medicine and vice-president, medical affairs to be established
I am writing to announce the establishment of a search committee for the dual position of dean, School of Medicine and vice-president, medical affairs. As we move forward with our plan for a new School of Medicine at Toronto Metropolitan University, an important step in this process is the appointment of a founding dean. This role will report to the provost, in the capacity of dean and to the president, as vice-president, medical affairs.
The formation of the search committee and the subsequent search will adhere to Toronto Metropolitan University’s policies and procedures and will reflect best practices on equity, diversity and inclusion, harassment prevention, and access.
The Senate Office will provide further information regarding dates and nominations to those who are eligible to nominate and vote for members. In the near future, there will be additional opportunities for TMU community members to serve on search committees for other academic leadership positions within the School of Medicine.
I look forward to announcing the composition of this committee over the coming weeks with the community.
