Ryerson Food Services is announcing a new approach to coffee on campus.

As of June 25, Tim Hortons is no longer available on campus. On June 26, the Hub Café coffee kiosk introduced new coffee and pastries from Reunion Island Coffee (external link)  and Circles and Squares (external link) .

"There are many food options within walking distance of the Ryerson campus, so we really aimed to provide our community with something different,” said Voula Cocolakis, executive director of University Business Services. “Terminating the licence with Tim Hortons allowed us to look for something more distinctly Ryerson, something locally sourced, more sustainable and healthier."

Reunion Island sources its coffee either through direct trade or certified fair-trade organizations, supporting economic stability and environmentally sound farming. Circles and Squares is proudly “old school,” eschewing the use of mixes and preservatives. Both businesses are local.

The new products will be rolled out to all campus eateries in the fall.
