The end of the school year doesn’t mean the end of campus life. A wide range of events and activities will make Ryerson University a frequent destination for the summer months.

First things first: it wouldn’t be the start of summer without the end of the school year. Ryerson Spring 2017 Convocation will see over 4,000 students (from 6,979 approved graduates) graduating at 17 ceremonies, from June 6 to 16.

Ryerson will once again be part of Pride, with a range of activities organized by Positive Space Ryerson. Kicking off with the flag raising at Kerr Hall Quad (June 1, 10 a.m.), Pride 2017 will encompass cultural events—Ryerson will sponsor the film Heartstone at the Inside Out Film Festival (TIFF Bell Lightbox, June 1, 9:30 pm.)—and community gatherings, including the Display Your Pride community celebration (TRSM Commons, June 22, noon to 1:30 p.m.).

Now in its fifth year on Gould Street, the Ryerson Market brings local food to the heart of the city. The Ryerson Urban Farm (external link)  is one of 20 vendors selling fresh food (and lunch options) every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. until October 4 (except for August 30 and September 6 during Orientation).

The Ted Rogers School of Management will host two series with business titans. Throughout June and July, the MBA Global Issues Speakers Series will welcome Susan Motkaluk (external link)  (CEO of Southbridge Development Corporation), Jeffrey Kroeker (external link)  (founding partner, Civis Law LLP), Anas Alashraf (project manager, Corporate Strategy, St. Joseph’s Health Care), and Amit Saini (president, National R&D), while the MBA Brand Management Speakers Series will feature branding expertise from Barb Atkin and Will Poho (external link) .

The campus will continue to be a destination for the arts. The Ryerson Studio Theatre will present new and diverse dance, music, theatre, and spoken word from emerging and established artists at Parados Festival (external link)  (June 5-18). Elsewhere on campus, work by Suzy Lake, Max Dean, Shelley Niro and Lori Blondeau continuing on display at the Ryerson Image Centre to August 13. The Mattamy Athletic Centre will also be the venue for Vertical Influences (external link)  (June 22-25), a fusion of ice skating and street dance from Montreal’s Le Patin Libre, part of this year’s Luminato Festival.

And off campus, the Ryerson Rams will host their 18th annual Hockey Alumni Golf Tournament. The Rams of previous generations will converge at Mississauga’s BraeBen Golf Course on June 9.
