Global Changemakers Engineering Competition 2024

Global Changemakers Engineering Competition at Toronto Metropolitan University welcomes highly motivated and talented female students in Grades 7-10 to discover engineering at the university level.

Funded by Motorola Solutions and a generous donation from Rodney Yip, this two-day program allows young women to take part in workshops, meet other like-minded students, and hear from our undergraduate students about what university life is like in engineering.

Over the course of a weekend, students will participate in groups to work on a case inspired by the work engineers would solve in the real world. The weekend will be full of hands-on activities that foster problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. The event allows students to better understand life as an engineer, with a focus on the global and societal impacts of the profession. Students will also have the opportunity to meet industry professionals, engineering mentors, and students across the Greater Toronto Area, building a network of like-minded women in STEM.
