Murad Hemmadi, AI Reporter for The Logic
Murad Hemmadi covers artificial intelligence, semiconductors, quantum computing and other deep technologies. He was previously an Ottawa correspondent for The Logic, covering business and innovation policy. Before joining The Logic, he covered politics and wrote a daily newsletter for Maclean’s.
Mahima Singh, Data Editor at The Globe and Mail
Mahima Singh is a data editor at The Globe and Mail, with experience in AI-driven automation, machine learning, and computational reporting. She has reported on politics, business, and global crises through data. Previously, she automated news at The Canadian Press and worked on investigative data teams at The Palm Beach Post and BBC.
Cody Gault, Product Manager at The Toronto Star
Cody Gault is the product manager of digital reader experience for the Toronto Star (as well as the Hamilton Spectator and other Torstar Metroland newspapers). He has overseen the development of several automated news products (which create news articles out of tabular data about weather forecasts, traffic closures, health inspections, beach closures, real estate prices and election results). He is currently working with the newsrooms at Torstar Metroland to identify how generative AI can improve the quality and impact of their journalism.
Sarah Thompson, Chief Commercial Officer at Mantis Group
Sarah is a seasoned marketing, data, and media professional based in Toronto. She currently serves as the Chief Commercial Officer at Mantis Group, an innovative start-up dedicated to data valuation and the ethical supply of data to enhance AI and business intelligence products and insights. Previously, Sarah held leadership roles as the President of Media at Dentsu and Chief Strategy Officer at Mindshare. A frequent speaker on the importance of data integrity and information accuracy, Sarah was honored as Media Leader of the Year by the CMDC in 2020.
