Val K. Lem BA, BEd, MLS
Val K. Lem is the collections lead for the Faculty of Arts and liaison librarian for History, English, Caribbean Studies, Arts and Contemporary Studies, and Languages, Literatures and Cultures. Many of these areas overlap with topics of interest to our MENA community. As a liaison librarian, Val supports new courses and faculty research by purchasing relevant library resources and alerts faculty members to noteworthy acquisitions and titles for consideration. Val has a long-standing interest in Asian-Canadian studies and created a website Asian Heritage in Canada. Middle Eastern countries apart from those in North Africa fall into the scope of the project that contains significant bio-bibliographical coverage of Canadian literary authors who were born in or descended from the broad Asian region. Only works published in English are profiled on the website: https://library.ryerson.ca/asianheritage/
