EDI in Research training Meeting: Part 2

Date
May 06, 2024
Time
All Day
MEMO

The MEMO project requires fieldwork to be conducted across diverse geographical regions while also ensuring a uniform understanding of data collection instruments and methods due to several reasons:

  • It is a comparative study, so we need to ensure data comparability for analysis.
  • Cultural and linguistic differences across and within the regions must be considered during fieldwork.
  • We need to be sensitive towards what kinds of questions will be asked and how those questions will be asked to the informants in different contexts.
  • Researchers involved in the fieldwork will be at different career stages with varying levels of EDI knowledge and fieldwork skills.

Therefore, it will be crucial to organize training on research methods for the MEMO project (interviews with migrants, focus groups, and key informant interviews) and incorporate EDI components within the training sessions.
