The Annual General Meeting was held on April 4, 2024 with the presentations on the quantitative results for West African countries (Ghana, Nigeria, Côte D'Ivoire, and Senegal) by Sarah Hoyos-Hoyos, a Research Technician in Data Science and the use of the digital storytelling method in the MEMO project by Assistant Professor Gabby Resch. The quantitative data presentation highlighted how diverse variables included climate conditions (precipitation, consecutive wet days, consecutive dry days, maximum temperature, and minimum temperature), conflict fatalities and events, and socio-demographic factors (women's education levels, living conditions, household access to water and electricity, malaria prevalence and incidence, etc.) impacted net migration flows in the region. There was also a comprehensive discussion among team members on how the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the project could potentially inform each other.
