Tara Clews
Tara is an artist with entrepreneurial aspirations. She has a BFA from OCAD University with a specialization in Digital Painting and Expanded Animation and a minor in Art & Social Change. She works as a Digital Art Lead for an education company, Extra Ed Inc., where she has created a Stop Motion Animation curriculum. During the pandemic Tara was working in retail management and she realized that none of her OCAD classmates were working in the Arts. Inspired by co-operative business models such as The Big Carrot and The Bain Co-op, Tara is seeking a way to resolve the starving artist stereotype and develop a business that provides sustainable and gainful employment to artists, especially art school graduates.
Why did you decide on the Ted Rogers MBA program?
Tara chose the Ted Rogers MBA program because of its focus on entrepreneurial studies, leadership, wellness, and experiential learning. After attending networking events at multiple business schools, Tara felt strongly that Toronto Metropolitan University would be where her creativity is seen as an asset. She is looking forward to the Starting your Startup, Developing Your Startup electives courses and Entrepreneurial Experience Capstone.
